8 ways to customize Google Chrome

Google Chrome offers a series of options to fully customize the browsing experience, adjusting to the preferences and tastes of the user, who can adapt various characteristics. The sections that allow these adjustments are detailed below, and it will be up to each user to configure the different possible changes based on their preferences, tastes or needs.

To initiate most of these changes, access through the Customize Chrome menu, in the lower right part of the browser when a new tab is opened, where a menu appears where options such as the following are available:

-Apply a theme: This option is found in the Settings section, which is accessed from the drop-down menu from the icon of the three vertical dots that is displayed in the upper bar of the browser, to the right of the bar where enter the address of the web to visit. Using the Aspect-Theme path, the tab is opened where a selection of themes available in the Chrome Web Store online store appears. Themes are collections of graphic elements around an aspect that maintain a unified aesthetic relationship. They are installed as browser extensions and after seeing the selection of available themes, just press the "Add to Chrome" button to install and activate said theme.

-Change the color: If flat colors are preferred to the themes, in the "Color and theme" section there is a series of options with combinations of two colors, although the option to choose custom colors using the eyedropper tool is also included. and a color chart, where RGB tones can also be indicated to fully customize the colors. Although Chrome indicates that the color change will only apply to the current page of the browser, the truth is that the change applies to the entire browser, even if that tab is closed.

-Wallpaper: Although web pages will be displayed in the browser, when a new tab is opened there will be a few seconds in which an image can be displayed that the user can select, either from the menu of images available in Chrome itself or from an image that the user himself has on his computer. As for the images offered by Chrome, these are collections of images that correspond to certain themes and that are updated daily, so that the background image automatically changes each day.

-Direct accesses: They can be chosen manually or select those corresponding to the most frequently visited pages to be displayed. There is also the option "Hide shortcuts", so that they will no longer appear in the new browser tab but it will be shown in white or with the design previously configured according to the instructions in the previous sections. If you choose to leave the links to the most visited pages, they can be deleted or relocated individually.

-Organized bookmarks: After the star icon that appears to the right of the taskbar, you can access the bookmarks page, which can be renamed and organized through thematic folders.

-Show / Hide the bookmarks bar: This bar that is shown below the search bar allows the most frequently visited websites to be easily accessible, but if it is considered that there is less space to the display in the navigation window, it can be included or remove this bar from the path "Settings-Show bookmarks bar" or "Settings-Hide bookmarks bar".

-Vertical tabs: Although in a traditional way the tabs in the browser are placed horizontally at the top, Chrome offers the option of relocating them vertically, thus appearing as a menu on the side of the browser window. It can be done through different extensions, in which the name Vertical, Vertical Tab or the like usually appears.

-Extensions: The icon in the shape of a puzzle piece gives access to the management of extensions, a series of accessory tools that are installed in the browser and that allow expanding its functions and characteristics, even existing thematic sets of extensions, such as some specific ones for marketing. From the extensions configuration menu you can check both the ones that are installed and the ones that are active, which is shown by means of a pin. Next to each extension there is a button with three dots that allows you to manage the permissions of said extensions, or to uninstall them.
