How to Transfer WhatsApp Chats from iPhone to Android

Google has announced that it is now possible to migrate WhatsApp chats from iPhone to Android phone. Currently, this tool is initially available on all Pixel devices, Google brand phones, and Samsung. However, over the next few months, it will also roll out on all new phones that have the Android 12 operating system installed.

So far, if a WhatsApp user switches from Android to iOS, or vice versa, they will have no choice but to give up keeping their conversations. With this new option, it will be possible to transfer those conversations from one device to another in a few steps and in a simple way. It is only necessary to have the WhatsApp app updated in the latest version and a USB Type C cable. Here we explain the steps that you should follow to transfer chats from iPhone to Android phone:

Connect both phones: Using a USB Type-C cable, connect both phones to each other to start the process.

- “Settings”: On your iPhone, open the WhatsApp application and go to the “Settings” folder. Once in, select the 'Chats' option and then the 'Transfer Chats to Android' option.

Copy in progress: Once you click on this option, WhatsApp will start getting ready to transfer the data. On the Android phone that the conversations will be transferred to, a window will appear asking if you want to transfer all your WhatsApp history to this device.

- QR code: A QR code will appear on the phone screen. With the other device, you have to scan this code, and while you do that, the files will start transferring from one phone to another.
