The Czech coach, Miroslav Skop, confirmed the Iraqi team's readiness to compete in the Asian qualifiers for the AFC U-23 finals, which will be held in Uzbekistan next year.

"I am here in Bahrain, but now I am the coach of the Iraqi Olympic team, and we have important qualifiers, and our goal is to qualify for the finals of Asia under 23 years," Scope said in the press conference for the third group matches.

He added, "The third group is good and distinctive, and we know the capabilities of these teams, especially the Bahrain team, because we saw it in the West Asian Championship, and tomorrow's match against the Maldives is important for us at the beginning of the journey to win."

He added: "I want to clarify that we must choose a different squad of players, we will miss the services of many professional players, we have many players in Europe, especially in England."

Czech Miroslav Skop concluded: "The Iraqi Olympic team includes a group of players with good potential from the Iraqi Premier League, and I hope the players will perform well."

Meanwhile, Muntadhar Muhammad Jabr, a player for the Iraqi Olympic team, said: "Our ambition is to lead the third group and guarantee a direct qualification for the Asian U-23 finals. All teams have the ambition to win and compete, and this is a legitimate right for everyone."

The captain of Iraq's Olympic team added: "The important thing is that we enter every match with an incentive to win, and tomorrow's match against the Maldives is important to win, and then think about the Afghanistan and Bahrain matches."
