Google Calendar lets you tag where you work from

Google Calendar lets you tag where you work from

Google Calendar, Google's collaborative calendar, has added several new functions in recent weeks, such as stats for paid users, the ability to set each user's working hours or share calendars with other people.

Now the tool adds another novelty: the ability to share the location in which you work at all times, which is necessary after the implementation of remote work or hybrid systems of physical and remote employment, especially since the Corona virus pandemic.

Google Calendar lets you add a routine for weekly locations and change location as plans change. This is an optional function, which the user can activate so that everyone who has access to their calendar can see it. You can also specify that only people who send an invitation to an event or who want to check its availability can see where the user works. In this way they will be able to check if you are actually in the place where the event will be held or, on the contrary, you will not be able to attend.

When choosing a location, next to the list that displays the time and day, there is also a drop-down menu that allows you to select the following options: “Office”, “Home”, “Unspecified” or “In another location”. In the calendar, this information appears in the weekly play between the day and time grids, and information about all-day events.

The information will be shown by default, but calendar administrators can deactivate it if they want, so that it is not shown to other users. Google has indicated that the functionality, already available to some users, will reach the rest of users of Google Workspace, Google's productivity suite, over the course of the month.
