TikTok launches job offers to compete with LinkedIn

TikTok has launched a new feature in the United States that allows social network users to sign up for job openings by submitting a short TikTok video that would double as a resume or cover letter.

The tool, which is called "Resumes" (in Spanish, resumes), will be available throughout the month of July on the platform, and depending on the results obtained with it, it will be officially established and could also be launched in other markets. .

With this novelty, TikTok would be entering the field of Human Resources and even competing with LinkedIn. This new function will allow users to access the selection processes through the application. At the moment, TikTok has invited a small number of companies to place their job ads on the social network. Among them are Chipotle, Ali Yoga or Shopify.

The way to upload a resume to TikTok is very simple. All you have to do is record a clip up to 60 seconds long, for now, unless TikTok extends the length of your videos, as expected, up to 3 minutes, commenting on experience and training, as well as skills. they work. have and upload the video to the profile using the hashtag #TikTokResumes.

TikTok has also created a specific website with tips to make resumes more attractive on TikTok, and it is also possible to search for available job offers among those published by companies participating in the program.

When a user finds one that interests her, she only has to send the link to the video-resume that she uploaded to her profile. You can also attach the link to your LinkedIn page, if you want. Interestingly, TikTok does not currently allow applying for a job on TikTok by sending the TikTok video-resume.
